We all know that the Internet of Things has been hyped to an absurd degree. In manufacturing it has been used as a blanket term to cover the use of any plant with Wi-Fi or any business that tracks pallets using RFID tags. I'm looking for examples of real innovation and practical applications. I wish to talk to manufacturers rather than technology suppliers.
Please do confine pitches to interview subjects who can talk directly about manufacturing and can isolate how the Internet of Things contributes to productive and profitable operations.
I do not intend to produce an article riddled with jargon and acronyms so all interviews must address achievements in the real world, not abstract technological concepts.
My deadlines on this piece are very tight. Ideally I will complete all interviews by close of play on Thursday 11 June.
