I want to examine whether AI requires its own specialist data centres and to ask what such data centres, optimised for the high intensity processing demanded by AI, look like.
The work of data centres is already controversial due to their power and water requirements. Will AI's appetite for processing power and hence electricity only make things worse?
Does technology have answers to these questions or might AI be the final straw for an electricity grid already struggling to reconcile data centre needs with the power requirements of the rest of society?
I want to talk to people who can shed light on the big questions, not bury the story under jargon. I'm looking for contributions from around the globe, not just the UK.
And I only need interview suggestions that are strictly relevant to the AI angle.
